The Election Commission of India (ECI) is set to announce the schedule for the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana on Friday.
The Election Commission is scheduled to provide the details of the upcoming assembly election at a press conference scheduled for 3 PM at the Plenary Hall in New Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan.
Assembly elections in Haryana, Maharashtra, and Jharkhand are due within the next five months. The terms of the legislative assemblies in Haryana and Maharashtra will expire on November 3 and November 26, respectively, while Jharkhand’s assembly term concludes in January next year.
The Commission also plans to hold assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir before the Supreme Court’s deadline of September 30.
